This is a 3-hour workshop where you slow down, get hands-on with collage, and leave with a finished piece you actually made - and a clearer head.
No experience needed. No artistic background required. Just curiosity and a willingness to show up.
The session is open to anyone: come solo, bring a friend, a partner, a colleague, or a sibling. The group is intentionally small - UP TO 8 PEOPLE - so everyone gets real attention and the space stays relaxed and personal.
How the 3 hours flow:
We open with a gentle breathwork practice followed by a guided meditation - a short inner journey that will become one of the inspirations for the piece you create that day.
Then we get into the collage. You'll learn real composition techniques - how to cut, layer, and arrange images with intention. It's not just "stick things on paper." There's a method to it, and it's surprisingly meditative once you get into it.
What makes this different from other collage workshops:
Most collage classes focus on the craft. You'll learn that here too - composition, how to use a craft knife, layering techniques, and the details that make a collage actually work. But this one goes a layer deeper. It's built on the Art2Heal methodology - a practice that combines collage with mindfulness to help you access what's going on beneath the surface.
Fabio Borges, your host, is a collage artist, published author, and trained practitioner in Healing with the Arts (University of Florida) and Positive Psychiatry (University of Sydney). He's been running these sessions for over five years.
What you'll get: Papers, scissors, magazines, books, cutters, glue and some snacks.
Knowledge required: Beginner-friendly event, no skills required.
What to bring: Personal prints, photos and curiosity
